Where do you currently live? I live in the north east section of Philadelphia
How long have you been involved with Philly Achilles? I’ve been a member since the beginning of the Philly Achilles chapter in 2012.
How did you find out about Philly Achilles? I learned about Achilles international when I joined the Philadelphia chapter
When did running become a part of your life? Running became a part of my program when I started with Achilles
What do you gain from running? I’ve gained independence and A feeling of accomplishment
What is your favorite distance to run? My favorite distance to run would be 10 mile
What is your most significant accomplishment to date? To date my most significant accomplishment would be running in the New York Marathon
Who or what is your biggest inspiration? My biggest inspiration would have to be the Philly Achilles family
What quality best describes your personality? I would say my personality is reserved
What do you do for fun or a hobby in your free time? Being around my dogs or any animals is fun to me
Do you have a favorite quote? My favorite quote is, if you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten
What is your disability? I am visually impaired
What strength do you bring to the Philly achilles chapter? The strength I bring to the group is “stability”
What motivates you to keep coming back to the chapter workouts? The feeling of accomplishment and being with these great people make me come back every week
If you were speaking to a prospective volunteer or athlete and could only convey one thing about Achilles Philadelphia what would it be? What I would say to the volunteer or athlete is “no matter how small you think your involvement is with Achilles, it’s one piece to a big puzzle called Philly Achilles family.
